CONNECTOR is a Horizon Europe funded research project, running for two years from 01 October 2023 with a grant of approximately EUR 4.15 million from the European Union and Switzerland. The project aims to enhance European Integrated Border Management (EIBM) and the EU Customs Action Plan by further strengthening cooperation between Customs, Border, and Coast Guard Authorities.
To achieve this objective, CONNECTOR will expand the Common Sharing Information Environment (CISE) networks and data models for use by Customs administrations and other border agencies, using innovative technology developed during the project. These technological solutions are designed to improve the common operational picture provided to agencies, resulting in better situational awareness and more productive EU cross-border joint operations. To assess and validate the solutions in simulated real-life operational environments, we will conduct three cross-border use-case trials during 2025.
The project involves 17 partners from the EU, Switzerland and Moldova, including SMEs, research organisations, a large enterprise, a state-owned consultancy, and multiple Customs, Border and Coast Guard authorities.
